The Great British Bake Off is back!
There have been a few changes in the tent (we still miss Mel, Sue & Mary) but the old GBBO magic is still alive and well.
I maybe a little biased, but when I’m watching Bake Off I can’t help but be a little distracted by those gorgeous pastel mixers, the retro fridge freezers and the ovens with the disappearing doors! So I’ve put together the ultimate guide to creating the perfect GBBO kitchen in your very own home.
The Great British Bake Off Oven
You may have noticed that the doors on the Great British Bake Off ovens are there one moment, and gone the next! That’s because the Neff ovens they use feature a unique Slide & Hide door that simply pulls out and slides underneath the oven, so that you can reach in for your bakes without leaning awkwardly over the door. A genius solution! This oven is also packed full of all the features you could possibly need as a baker such as bread baking, dough proving, bottom heat (no more soggy bottoms!), conventional heat, surface grilling and low temperature cooking alongside Neff’s famous CircoTherm fan technology.
The Great British Bake Off Fridge Freezers
You can’t miss the Gorenje Retro’s curved design in the tent! As well as looking fantastic on the outside, this fridge freezer is packed with a number of fantastic features including auto defrost and supercool. A++ rated for efficiency, this fridge freezer from Gorenje is available in left and right hinge variations.
If you love the blue colour of the fridge freezer in the tent you’ll love this Smeg Retro Style Pastel Blue Fridge Freezer . As well as it’s fabulous 1950’s looks, this fridge freezer is A++ rated for energy efficiency and comes complete with fast freezing (no more baked Alaska disasters!) and automatic defrost. The fridge has some nifty storage functions too including a chrome wine rack, covered storage box and a fruit & vegetable container.
The Great British Bake Off Warming & Proving Drawer
This warming drawer from Neff is perfect for warming up plates and cups ready for serving. But it can also be very useful for keeping food warm once it has been prepared. In fact it can keep food warm for up to a staggering 6 hours! So there’s no need to panic if you get your timings wrong during a dinner party. It’s also a great place for leaving dough to rise, as the bakers during bread week have demonstrated over the series.
The Great British Bake Off Hob
This hob from Neff uses induction technology, meaning that you get almost instant heat straight to your pans. With induction, the hob heats the bottom of the pan only, meaning that no heat is wasted. This makes it a very energy efficient choice and saves you money on your energy bills as well! Plus, induction offers you precise control over the amount of heat you want and responds instantly to your choice. This hob is also a very safe option as it only heats pans made of ferromagnetic metal and not the surface of the hob.
The Great British Bake Off Mixer
We love the retro style of the mixers in the show and Smeg’s model would have to be the one for our kitchen! Created from die-cast aluminium and stainless steel, this mixer comes complete with a wire whisk, flat beater, dough hook and bowl cover. It also comes in a variety of delightful colours including red, silver, cream and black.
