So you’re about to just put all of your washing into your new Bosch washing machine but the Child Lock feature has been enabled. You haven’t got a clue on how to get it off or where on earth that user manual is…
Don’t stress, we’re here to help! This is one of the most common problems that prevents customers from being able to use their washing machine, but its very simple to deactivate.
Depending on the model of your washing machine, when Child Lock is activated there will either be a key symbol or a “CL” on the display and all of the washing machine buttons will be disabled.
Here is how to unlock it-
- Press and hold the start button for three to five seconds until you hear a beep and the key symbol disappears.
- Another way is to press and hold the “rpm” and the “finished in” buttons together until you hear a beep and the symbol disappears.
- If your washing machine has the advanced touch screen display, there should be an illuminated square button with a key symbol and “3 sec” underneath. Simply hold the button down for three seconds, the button will darken and you should hear a beep.
If none of these solutions work, then it may be that your washing machine has a fault with the lock. This is not something you should repair by yourself and will need the assistance of a qualified Bosch engineer. To book for an engineer call 0344 829 8979.
