Lichfield’s Food Festival Back By Popular Demand

Lichfield Food Festival

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Lichfield’s Food Festival is back by popular demand on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September. The festival not only celebrates the gastronomic delights that Lichfield has to offer but also features a food theatre at Lichfield’s Garrick Theatre, cookery demonstrations and competitions for amateur bakers to get involved with, a wide range of producers’ stalls, an extended Farmers’ Market and The Best of Local Brewers festival.

Across the beautiful city of Lichfield there will be a host of Food & Drink Trails. As part of the Wine & Ale and World Menu trails, many cafés and restaurants across the city will offer diners set menus for £10, and bars and pubs will offer a glass of wine or ale for £3. To find participating venues, look out for window posters over the festival weekend.

The Food Theatre at Lichfield Garrick will bring together chefs from top restaurants across the region, demonstrating the art of bread baking, hosting a perfect dinner party, knife skills, Indian gastronomy and authentic Chinese and Italian cooking.

The Best of Local Brewers festival will be taking place in Lichfield’s Guild Hall. With over one-thousand small brewers in Britain, we are thrilled to have four of the finest in the Lichfield District, plus a craft lager maker and the only cider maker in Staffordshire. You will be able to sample their fine products at the festival.

CookersAndOvens are once again heavily involved with the festival. Being a team of foodies we are delighted to have TV chef Rachel Green performing cookery demonstrations and sharing her culinary wisdom with us here at Tippers’ Lichfield branch on Saturday 31st August.
