Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

Cookies 4At HQ we love baking all kinds of cakes and biscuits but we can’t forget our faithful friends! After experiencing sky high prices for doggie treats online, our web sales team manager Mel decided to take matters into her own hands and make her own for her Dalmation Henry.

These biscuits cost around £1.50 per batch to make and made around 100 biscuits!

HENRY’S PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

Cookies-2

Ingredients

  • 255g natural chunky peanut butter
  • 180ml skimmed milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 244g wholemeal flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 30g porridge oats

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C. Line two or three large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, gently mix the peanut butter, milk, and egg together with a large spoon or spatula. Switch to a whisk to make sure no lumps remain. Add the flour and baking powder. You may need to turn the dough out onto the counter and use your hands to work in the flour. Mix in the oats. The dough is extremely thick and heavy.
  3. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out into 1/4″ thickness. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters or a knife. Arrange on the baking sheets. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until very lightly browned on the bottom. Remove from the oven, and flip the treats to bake the other side for 10-12 more minutes.
Henry

Needless to say, Henry thought they were delicious!
