AGA Rangemaster cookers voted Best Midlands’ Innovation

AGA Rangemaster’s range cookers have been voted Best Midlands Radical Design and Innovation in a public poll organised as part of the Birmingham Made Me Design Expo celebrations.

In the awards – which set out to bring about greater levels of collaboration between higher education and the design and manufacturing communities that have formed the backbone of the Midlands’ economy – AGA Rangemaster came top of a field including innovations such as those for the Jaguar C-X75, microwave ovens, thermal imaging and Apple innovations.

The original range cooker in 1830 – the ‘Kitchener’ – separated the heat source from the cooking pot.  It was the end of sooty food.  From then to today’s new products – like the Rangemaster Hi-Lite and AGA Total Control – the way we live day-to-day has been influenced by the Group’s designs and innovations.

Commenting on the win, Chief Executive, William McGrath said: “It is the heritage and the new and relevant products in combination that make AGA Rangemaster an important part of the Midlands’ manufacturing base.  It’s great to have the tradition of innovation and design recognised just as we launch a range of products.”
